WA7UHF System Repeaters
Our repeaters are freely open for use by any licensed amateur radio station. Currently there's not a lot of chatter on the systems, but PLEASE feel free to use the repeater to talk with your friends if the coverage pattern works for you. WA7UHF is open to hosting ham radio nets as well. We ask that you contact license trustee Mark Hagler KK7U if you want to schedule a regular net to ensure the time and day is available for all interested parties.
As of April 2009 our internet linking is configured and working! Feel free to use the repeater to call up other nodes and talk with hams worldwide!
IRLP Node 3330 / Echolink Node 417277 (WA7UHF-R)
We are pleased to offer internet ham radio linking from our Capitol Hill repeater in Seattle. You can check the IRLP status page for our repeater to see what it's up to. When the repeater is idle we encourage any licensed hams in the area to use the linking as much as you like. Visit the linking page for instructions and procedures for using our EchoIRLP connection.
Capitol Hill 442.875
Our main and best coverage repeater is located high on Capitol Hill in Seattle, just east of Lake Union. This repeater has good coverage across the city and the receiver is working very well lately. Coverage is excellent from Seatac north to Lynnwood with a mobile rig. HT coverage is usable throughout the City of Seattle for the most part.
Frequency: 442.875 + offset, PL Tone 141.3 hz
A coverage map can be viewed that approximates the transmitter coverage through the region. You can also view a really big map that focuses on Seattle for detailed coverage.
Beacon Hill 440.525
Our Beacon Hill repeater is located on top of a 12-story building on the north end of Beacon Hill, just south of the Pac Med/Amazon.com building. It covers the Seattle waterfront, the I-5/I-90 interchange, and down across the shore of Lake Washington. In particular it covers southeast into Rainier Valley which is primarily the intended coverage area for the Seattle ACS. The Seattle EOC has a particularly nice line of site to this repeater.
On the down side, the Beacon Hill repeater site is not located high enough to provide really strong coverage to North Seattle. The repeater is difficult to hear in low-lying areas, such as once you go north over the Wallingford hill around Green Lake. It's usable again from higher elevation in North Seattle and further north in Shoreline.
Frequency: 440.525 + offset, PL Tone 141.3 hz
The wide area map and the big map are availalbe.
Columbia Center 444.550
We have installed a repeater at the top of Columbia Center in Seattle. It's a fantastic site donated to the amateur community by the owner of the Columbia Center. The antenna is at approx 1100 ft ASL and has really nice coverage across the region.
Columbia Center repeater is operated in conjunction with WW7SEA and the repeater uses WW7SEA as it's call sign. We operate IRLP node 3909 on this repeater and it's often found connected to the Seattle Reflector 9198.
We are pleased that local wireless ISP AccelNet has agreed to help support the amateur radio community by donating the internet connection for the IRLP node at this site. For high quality business-grade wireless internet access please visit their site at http://www.accelnet.net
